Once Upon A December Night

Happy Christmas eve everyone, I hope you all have a great Christmas, despite what as happened this year. Enjoy spending time with your family and loved ones, and hopefully next year will be far better than this year.

Once upon a December Night,
A fire burned there so bright,
There I found you curled up tight,
Underneath the candle light,

Outside was white as snow,
The moonlight shone and made it glow,
Crunch crunch it went under toe
As the temperature there was very low,
It had now gone below zero.

Once upon a December night,
I could see you in my sight,
I squealed with such delight,
As you came to me tonight.

If you go to sleep,
Without taking a peek,
You will receive what you seek,
And it will be the best day of the week.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my blog! I will be taking time off to spend with my family, so I won’t be back until the new year. See you in 2021. January 7th 2021.

My Dad

Hi everyone, I first want to start off by apologizing, that there was no post last week, as unforeseen things happened that was taken out of my hands, as I spent last week in the hospital.

This post is about my dad who we sadly lost seven years ago today. He wasn’t just an amazing dad, he was an amazing husband and Grandad too, that loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family, always playing host at family parties, barbeques, you name it, he would do it. He would always be the first person to put his hand up and so eager to spend his time with the family. You are sadly missed every day. So today is dedicated to him.

Seven Years Ago Today

Seven years ago, today,
Was not a good day?
As you left a big hole,
I know that wasn’t your goal,
But still… they took your soul.

It’s been so long,
Since you’ve been gone,
The years have flown by
And I still wonder why,
You had to die.

We never had a chance to mourn,
As our world that day had been torn,
I hope you can now be free,
Sitting underneath your orange blossom tree,
But you will always be a part of me.

There is so much you have missed,
Like your eldest grandchild in wedded bliss,
And now she has a baby on the way,
I know that would have made your day.

Your youngest grandchild is making her mark,
Including in the dreaded dark,
Like you… she has a passion for photography,
Her photos and drawings would blow you away,
If only they had let you stay on that fateful day.

There’s so much for us to share,
You’ll have to wait until we get there,
Until then you will have to wonder,
As you sit there and just ponder.

Down at the Library

Hi everyone i hope you are all keeping busy and staying well. I thought i would do one of my own poems this week, as its been a while since my last poem, anyway I hope you like it.

Down at the library
Is where I love to be?
It is nothing new,
For that’s where…
You will find me,

I open a book,
To have a look,
And See what
Adventure is…
About to begin.

From fables of old,
To finding some gold,
Or… could it be?
An adventure at sea.

Slaying dragons,
Or firing cannons,
We have a ball,
With fairy tales and all.

Jumping through
To an unknown world,
That will have your head,
Spinning in a whirl.

I flick through each page,
As I start to engage.
In every stage.
Of the Dark Age,

To marrying my prince,
Whatever it is…
I don’t stand a chance,
At first glance.

Uncertain Times

Hi everyone I am at a loss for words of what to say, so I thought that i would share some of my own thoughts with you.

This poem brings great sadness to me as I write this in what is a difficult time for all, but more so for the colored society, when I say colored what I mean is we are all colored one way or another, none more so than us whites, well you really can’t call us whites, can you? We are more multicolored because some of us are either tanned (brown/beige), Orange when we have over done it with the spray tan, we go blue when we are cold, we turn red when we are burned or embarrassed, we go green when we are sick. The only ones that stay the same color as they were born, are those you are being racist at. There shouldn’t be so much hate and racism in the world, because you might as well be racist against yourselves, so you’re not really doing yourself any favors.

What I have seen on the TV and in the news only proves to me that instead of our times going forward, it’s drastically going back to the days before the blacks had equal rights. I hate using the phrase colors, blacks etc. those words just get stuck in my throat.

Uncertain Times

What is happening today?
That makes us all pay,
A miscarriage of justice,
Is coming our way.

There’s uncertain times ahead,
Which fills us with dread,
But it’s already happened,
Now someone is dead.

The worlds got more complicated
As the madness as now escalated,
Look into their eyes,
You’ll see there pupils dilated,

With hate, rage and fear,
Now here come the tears,
For those who all jeered
At the forgotten years.

Crying for humanity,
With all of this insanity,
Crying for the pain,
Our lives won’t ever be the same.

The futures uncertain,
The future looks bleak,
What’s going to happen?
In the upcoming weeks.
