Dear Father Christmas

Hi everyone, I bet you are all excited about tomorrow, I know I am. I’m doing this blog post early, this week so I get to spend all the festivities with my family, which is what Christmas is all about, spending it with your loved ones. I am taking a couple of weeks off and I will be back in the new year. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I will resume back here on January 9th 2020. I will now leave you with this lovely poem by C Marritt

Dear Father Christmas,
I write to you today,
This is my Christmas list for you,
From very far away.
I hope I don’t confuse you,
As I’m not asking for clothes or toys.
And I know you’re very busy,
My request is oh so simple,
And elves cannot fulfil this quest,
All I ask is for a visit to my family,
And put their minds at rest.
Just to sit inside your sleigh,
So my wings don’t start to tire,
A lift to my family’s home,
Is all that I require.
So while they are sleeping,
My angel kiss I’d like to leave,
So they can dream happy memories,
On this year’s Christmas Eve.
I await your reply Dear Santa,
I know your sleigh comes this high,
For I listen for your jingles,
In the magical starlit sky.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, and I will see you all in 2020.

Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss,
If you are my friend, please answer me this:
Are we friends, or are we not?
You told me once, but I forgot.
So tell me now, and tell me true,
So I can say I’m here for you.
Of all the friends I’ve ever met,
You’re the one I won’t forget.
And if I die before you do,
I’ll go to Heaven and wait for you,
I’ll give the angels back their wings
And risk the loss of everything.
There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do,
To have a friend just like you!

Portrait of Fall

Looking out my window
In October’s golden light,
I see a beauty unsurpassed,
A truly lovely sight.

Leaves are saying soft good-byes
As they come floating down
To make a nature’s carpet
Of yellow, red, and brown.

Mountain tops, now turned to white,
Forewarn of winter chills,
While trees, like golden rivers,
Wind their way up through the hills.

Throughout our world’s creation
You will ever find it thus,
Kaleidoscopes of color,
In God’s hand, the artist’s brush.

I Am Me

I am me,
I just wanted to be free.
But all I could see,
Is who you wanted me to be.

I longed to soar,
To know I deserved more.
You couldn’t open your eyes,
And Look through my disguise.

As I screamed with rage,
In that gilded cage.
Your love, it decieved,
Silly me, I believed.
Your pathetic lie,
Then you said good bye.

From that day on,
I grew strong,
I saw we didn’t belong.
In the world of “ever after”
It was just a disaster.

Now I am free,
Could it be,
It’s time for me?
